Big crochet mandala pattern – Autumn Leaves Mandala

Embarking on the journey of crocheting a big mandala can indeed feel quite overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time attempting such a big project!

Are you hesitant about whether you can create such a beautiful, big mandala? Are you familiar with the basic stitches (half-double crochet, single crochet, chains, and double crochet)? If so, allow me to introduce you to my latest crochet pattern: the Autumn Leaves Mandala. With this big crochet mandala pattern, you’ll crochet a stunning piece that you’ll truly take pride in. But don’t let the basic stitches fool you: this pattern is really challenging due to the non-symmetric shapes and stitch variations. It is therefore recommended that you have experience with crocheting mandalas. But if you are an adventurous beginner looking for a challenge, this might be the pattern for you.

Similar to my other patterns, this one comprises a chart accompanied by written instructions. Additionally, the pattern provides guidance on yarn selection, dimensions, and attaching the mandala in the hoop, to assist you throughout the crocheting process.

Still feeling uncertain? Many customers have shared positive feedback, expressing their satisfaction with the clarity of my patterns (don’t forget to check Etsy for reviews šŸ˜‰). Moreover, you can always reach out to me through social media or email if you encounter any challenges while crocheting. I’m here to help ensure that you proudly display a beautifully crafted mandala on your wall!

If you prefer a smaller-scale trial first, take a look at my other patterns, which include some smaller (free) options for you to experiment with before crocheting a big mandala.

Materials

  • Yarn and hook: I have crocheted 2 versions:
    • Light green: I have used 200 grams Cotton Kings Sultan Deluxe Vienna Crown Emerald (07) (check out this yarn on Hobbii.de or Hobbii.com) with a 2,5mm hook for the 100cm / 40 inch version. Please note that the regular Sultan Yarn might not be enough to crochet this mandala. If you want to use the normal Sultan, make sure that you pick a color that you can easily supplement with other yarn in the same color, or purchase 2 skeins.
    • Black: I have used 160 grams Scheepjes Whirlette Liquorice (851) with a 2mm hook for the 80cm / 40 inch version.
    • Hook: 2,5mm (for example, check out this hook on Hobbii.com).
  • Hoop: depending on the size of your mandala. Sizing instructions are included in the pattern. Mine turned out to be 100 cm / 40 inch, but yours could be different depending on the combination of yarn, hook size and how you crochet. I’d recommend to buy a hoop after you finished crocheting.
  • Other materials: scissors, needle, stitch marker, tape measure.
