Bliss Mandala CAL – Part 2

Abbreviations

The pattern is written in US terms

sc = single crochet
ss = slip stitch
ch = chain stitch
dc = double crochet
fpdc = front post double crochet
ch-loop = chain loop
ch-space = chain space

Special stitches

1fpdc1+1dc together = double crochet 2 together where the first part is a fpdc and the
second part is a dc. Crochet the fpdc part always around the fpdc part of the previous
round (not the whole stitch), except in round 23.

1dc1+1fpdc together = double crochet 2 together where the first part is a dc and the
second part is a fpdc. Crochet the fpdc part always around the fpdc part of the previous
round (not the whole stitch), except in round 23.

Notes

The * * indicate repeats. Repeat the instructions between the * *. The amount of repeats is indicated.

If your work starts to curl a bit, don’t worry. This will disappear when you attach the mandala to the hoop!

Written instructions

ROUND 11

ch3 (counts as 1 dc), 2dc, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, 3dc, 1fpdc.
*3dc, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, 3dc, 1fpdc*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.

ROUND 12

ch3 (counts as 1 dc), 4dc, 1dc around ch-space, 5dc, 1fpdc.
*5dc, 1dc around ch-space, 5dc, 1fpdc*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.


ROUND 13

ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc in current stitch, 9dc, 2dc in next dc, 1fpdc.
*2dc in next dc, 9dc, 2dc in next dc, 1fpdc*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.

ROUND 14

ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc in current stitch, 11dc, 2dc in next dc, 1fpdc.
*2dc in next dc, 11dc, 2dc in next dc, 1fpdc*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.


ROUND 15

1ss in next dc, ch3 (counts as 1dc), 12dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch3, 1fpdc+1dc together (crochet the fpdc part around the same fpdc where you ended the 1dc+1fpdc together).
*13dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch3, 1fpdc+1dc together (crochet the fpdc part around the same fpdc where you ended the 1dc+1fpdc together)*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.

ROUND 16

1ss in next dc, ch3 (counts as 1dc), 10dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch1, 5dc in 2nd ch of ch-3 loop, ch1, 1fpdc+1dc together.
*11dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch1, 5dc in 2nd ch of ch3-loop, ch1, 1fpdc+1dc together*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.

ROUND 17

1ss in next dc, ch3 (counts as 1dc), 8dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1fpdc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1fpdc+1dc together.
*9dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1fpdc, ch1, 1dc, ch1, 1fpdc+1dc together*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
Close the round with 1ss in the 3rd ch at the start of the round.


ROUND 18

1ss in next dc, ch3 (counts as 1dc), 6dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch2, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc around fpdc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc around fpdc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, ch2, 1fpdc+1dc together.
*7dc, 1dc+1fpdc together, ch2, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc around fpdc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, ch1, 1fpdc around fpdc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, ch2, 1fpdc+1dc together*.
Repeat from * to * until you return at the start of the round.
